Recent crystalline vase

This piece was initially a 'reject' as the first firing formed ugly, gritty crystals, perhaps from an insufficient application. After reheating and respraying with a copper carbonate colored glaze, the kiln was programmed to increase and decrease temp. during the crystal growing phase. The results are the concentric halos seen in the crystals. Notice the yellow background of the original iron glaze. It is a pleasing effect I plan to explore. The piece is approximately 12" tall. $85.00 plus shipping
